Library Comments

  • My granddauhter loves the library storytime. She enjoys dancing in between reading books. She loves the puppets. It's so fun to get 2 stamp on her hand at the end. Thank you, children's librarians!

  • I raised my family in Naperville and now that they are all grown, my adult daughter, who lives out-of-town, has been here 3X this past week with my 13 month old grandson. I came today with them and was so impressed with the improvements in the children's dept. Very user friendly w/books, play area and convenient restroom facilities. So pleased that my tax dollars are well spent! Thank you :)

  • Over the last 3 years the library has become much more for me, than just a place to access information, borrow books and have a quiet place to work. I started using the resources and coming to the Score meeting and attending the Naperlaunch classes. What I have gained over the last 3 years has been amazing. I have a network of library employees that have become friends, supporters, mentors and sources of knowledge and information. This has also become my office and in some instances my service of inspiration.
So much has transpired at the library for me that I truly feel and believe I would not be where I am today without this. I also believed that I have grown because of the experiences I have had here as well. I tell everyone I talk to about the opportunities. I have had as a result of utilizing this gem right here in my city.  I will continue to sing praises to others so they take time to experience what I have.

  • Truly one of Naperville’s best kept secrets . The talent in the room is priceless - the knowledge, guidance, resources and support are beyond measure. So happy to be included.

  • What can your library do for you?
Where can you find fabulous resources for your job search, kick-starting your business, and the latest movies--all without a monthly fee?
Today, I participated in the quarterly pitch session hosted by my local library. A handful of "pitches" and a dozen local business leaders scored each pitch and offered instant feedback. The library also offers one-on-one job search support, access to extensive training libraries (including Lynda.com, now part of Linkedin), and all the Star Wars films you need to catch up on before the next one is released.
So, here's a shout out to all public libraries, the entrepreneurs who volunteered their time today, and to Kent Palmer for running the program!

  • The library has a program called Stitches in the Stacks. It allows us to make hates, scarves and afghans to donate to the needy. Gream program.

  • Last summer when my son was bored I would send him to the library to pick up a book. One day he decided he wanted to learn how to make donuts, so he got a book and started making baked donuts. Then he wanted to make fried donuts, so he started mowing the lawn to earn money for a deep fryer. Now he makes the most amazing apple fritters. Thank you NPL for making our lives a little sweeter.

  • Because I only live a few blocks from the Naper. Blvd Library, I decided years ago not to buy a printer for my computer. I print so rarely, spending 10 cents per copy is cheaper than having to buy a printer and buy ink when needed. I also use the emailing available. Best of all, if I ever have a problem, one of the friendly staff members is always willing to help. Of course, having the library so close is great for obvious reasons.

  • My favorite experiences so far was rediscovering the library. I had been bringing all my books from goodwill and had quite the collection. I was so surprised to see the wide variety of graphic novels that were offered. To think I had been paying $20 for something I would only read once. Now that I’ve downsized, I’ve donated three boxes of books and I haven’t looked back.

  • Having a noisy little sister, it’s sometimes hard to have a quiet place to study at home but the library is a great place to get my work done, whether it’s by myself or with my friends.

  • When I read to a dog I loved it, so that was a day I will never forget!
