  Library Services

The library is currently open to customers and reserves hours for vulnerable populations: Monday through Friday, 9 - 10 a.m.
Customers and staff are required to wear masks while using the libraries. Please follow social distancing guidelines.

The following services are now available:

  • Browsing and checking out materials.
  • Curbside service
  • Public computers - seating is limited.
  • Remote printing services & copying.
  • 3D Printing
  • Public seating for studying and working. Two chairs per table.
  • Socially-distanced computers for children.
  • Public room reservations for groups of 25 or fewer.

Note: When materials are returned, they are not checked in until after a 24-hour quarantine period. Fines that may accrue on returned materials, during the quarantine period, will be removed. Our cleaning schedule has increased – staff will clean self-check stations after each use, and high-touch areas will be disinfected more often.

  Curbside Service

The library is now offering curbside service at all three buildings.

Mon. - Fri. 9 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Sat. 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Sun. 1 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Here's how curbside service works:
  1. Browse the catalog and place items you want on hold.
  2. When the materials are ready for pick up, you will receive a notification.
  3. The notification will ask you to call the library’s main phone number (630-961-4100) to schedule curbside pickup. You can pick up your holds within 15 minutes.
  4. When you arrive in the parking lot for curbside service, call the pickup number posted on the signs. Library staff will bring out your materials and deliver them contact-free by placing them in your trunk or through one of your car windows.

All book drops are currently open; please return all library materials in our book drops. Items will be quarantined for 24 hours prior to being checked in.

Computer Labs

NEW!  Computer labs are now available on a walk-in basis (reservations are not required)!

Note: Staff cannot provide one-on-one assistance due to social distancing requirements.
The number of available computers at each building will be limited:

  • Nichols Library: 9 computers
  • Naper Blvd. Library: 5 computers
  • 95th Street Library: 10 computers
  • *One-hour time limit when computer labs have reached full capacity.
Customers may use the printers and copy machines.

Naperville Public Library cardholders can continue to use our digital resources from their home 24/7. Customers can stream movies and music on hoopla, get e-books through OverDrive, read newspapers through PressReader, and so much more.

Stay up to date with the library's social media, and we’ll let you know as we’re able to phase in new services. And please reach out if there’s something you need that we’re not currently providing. We want to hear from you so we know what to prioritize.

The DuPage County Health Department is recommending these simple daily steps:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Do not touch your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

If you are sick:

  • Stay home
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces you touch.
